She American punk power pop rock'n'roll band from Boston, Massachusetts formed as The Kids in 1972 by John Felice after he left The Modern Lovers. Okay, this is a little complicated, but bear with us. In the beginning, or at least in 1975, there were the Real Kids, maybe the best pop-punk band Boston ever offered up. Their fantastic self-titled debut came out in 1977, but it stiffed commercially. The Real Kids broke up and leader John Felice became a roadie for the Ramones. Then, in late 1978, Felice formed the Taxi Boys, who were basically the Real Kids with a slightly reshuffled lineup and a new name, and released an EP that was nearly the equal of the Real Kids' debut. Then for some reason, Felice and company went back to using the Real Kids name and released their second (third?) album, 1979's sweaty, garage-rockin' OUTTA PLACE. Got it? NO PLACE FAST is a CD reissue of the TAXI BOYS EP and OUTTA PLACE, and it's prime late '70s pop-punk, as good as the genre gets.
