Musique Pop de Paris compiles a wide cross-section of French pop from the '60s, ranging from orchestrated crooners to the cool chanteuse-stylings of yé-yé girls. Highlights from the compilation's 15 tracks include classics from stalwarts like Serge Gainsbourg, Brigitte Bardot, and Alice Dona, as well as Jacqueline Taïeb's mod-tinged 7" "Heures du Matin" and Jacques Dutronc's deadpan proto-garage hit "Et Moi, Et Moi, Et Moi." Getting by on a technicality is British pop star Sandie Shaw, contributing her French-spoken rendition of Bacharach's "There's Always Something There to Remind Me," known here as "Toujours un Coin Qui Me Rappelle."
