Ann Williamson - Country Evergreens (1979/2020)

Ann, who comes from Polmont, near Falkirk, Scotland, began singing within Scotland's thriving Country music scene in the early eighties. After being noticed by Emerald Music in Co.Antrim, she had a string of hits in Ireland throughout the decade. She would also team up with one of Ireland's best loved entertainers, Roly Daniels, and they would have a number of successful singles including 'Like Strangers' and 'Rest Your Love On Me'.
In the 1990s, Ann became known as much for her ability to perform soulful Gospel music, as well as Country music. This change-of-direction created legions of new fans around the world, beyond the Country music scene, yet still appealed to her fan-faithful of Country fans in the UK and Ireland. She would represent Scotland and Ireland at the annual CMA Fanfayre festival in Nashville, sharing the stage with Brenda Lee, Slim Whitman and the Jordanaires.
After taking some time out of the music industry, Ann toured the UK earlier this year alongside Lynn Anderson, Jeannie C Riley and Sarah Jory, in a show that paid tribute to the late Billie Jo Spears. Having recently signed with a new manager in well known Belfast based journalist/agent/promoter Malcolm McDowell, Ann will return to the stage full-time in 2013. She will team up with one of Ireland's best loved female artists Mary Duff and Eurovision legend Muriel Day for the 'Follow The Girls' cabaret tour, which will take in venues throughout the world. The three ladies will also record an album together to co-incide with the tour.
