"If life has seven days, what am I going to do?" Chen Sheng asked such a life question. In the Bible, seven days is enough for the creator to create the world; seven days is also enough for him to hold an acoustic guitar and a four-member team of musicians Fan Junhao, Li Liyong, and recording engineer Xu Yuguang, buried in a quiet town on the east coast of Taiwan, and together on the album Seeking answers in Seven Days.
Upholding the experimental spirit of old-school romance, he and his music team collected the original sound recordings in the fields, so that eleven improvised tunes were embellished with cicadas, running water, and dog barks, and they sounded like documentary music. With regard to these sources of inspiration, Chen Sheng shared what he saw and heard: "The album is inspired by a tree, but a small black mosquito that lives for seven days, a grass snake that crosses the road, silent fireflies, drifting clouds, dogs, flowers and plants , The little village in the afternoon, the mountain princess who fled to the city, and the younger brother who missed her sister. "He embraced nature completely, singing those childlike stories with an unabashed, mellow voice, and also showing the 60-year-old He still had the most "plain" voice, as he always did. Not only that, you can also see his humanistic care for the land in these songs: whether it is the tree uprooted in the "Tree Move", the scene of the bird's nest turning over, or the "Seven days is enough" for high technology He always laments the reflection scenes of the illusive firelight: "We humans owe something to nature." On this trip to the "Seven Days", he wrote these field stories in a poetic and chic tone, turning his sights on Move away from the bustling city, look back at the trees on the land, the clouds in the sky, and cherish the beauty of everything in this world. For the initial self-question, his answer was simple and clear: "If there were seven days, what would I do? Plant a tree and talk to Yun."
