The soundtrack for THE MIRACLE OF BERN was composed by award winning composer Marcel Barsotti and recorded with the NDR Radio Symphony Orchestra under the artistic direction of Nic Raine. The soundtrack was re-released on the new label TUNESforMOVIES. Orchestrators were Enrique Ugarte and Marcel Barsotti. The melodic and emotional film music masterfully accentuates the history drama that in 2003 reached for a long time #1 at the box office in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. Starring Peter Lohmeyer and Luis Klamroth, it had some success internationally in countries such as Italy, France, Spain, England, as well as in Asia and the United States of America. The story: a young boy from a working class family in post-war Germany struggles with his estranged father returning from war captivity, while a friend of his plays for the German National Soccer Team at the 1954 FIFA World Cup in Switzerland (imdb). Marcel Barsotti is a German film- & advertising composer. From 1982 - 1988 he studied composition, piano and clarinet at the Conservatory of Munich (Germany) and in the studios of film composer Harold Faltermeyer. During these years he worked with famous directors and producers like Sönke Wortmann, Günter Rohrbach, Caroline Link, Luc Besson-Production, Carl Schenkel, Anno Saul, Josée Dayan, Eberhard Junkersdorf, Paul Hills and Hark Bohm. Since 1995 Barsotti has composed the scores for more than 80 national and international movies & commercials such as "Pope Joan" „ The Miracle of Bern" "Jesus Loves Me" „Deutschland. Ein Sommermärchen" „The Seawolf" „The Bible Code" „Rennschwein Rudi Rüssel 2" „Kebab Connection" or „The Poet". In 2017 Marcel Barsotti was nominated for the German music author's award (Deutscher Musikautorenpreis). In 2010 Barsotti received the German Record Critics` Award and the Director's Choice Gold Medal for Excellence for "Pope Joan" by the Park City Filmmusic Festival in Utah. He was nominated in 2010 by the Verband der Deutschen Filmkritik and by The Score of the Year 2009 in Suisse for „Pope Joan". In 2004 Barsotti got three nominations by the German Television Award and he won the Award for best Commercial 2005 for "Credit Suisse".
