Troja - How About Life . On Mars? (2019)

The band TROJA was founded in 2003 by pianist Peter Zihlmann. From the very beginning it was important for the trio to develop their own band sound and to bring as many facets of the three "traditional" instruments as piano, bass and drums to sound. The music, which comes exclusively from its own resources, therefore also testifies to enormous diversity. Funky high-energy passages and almost chamber music, folky sequences alternate, sometimes the music is hovering airily, then again dense and earthy.
Through their broad musical background, the three musicians know how to merge the whole thing into a homogeneous overall picture. The result is exciting, fresh and contemporary trio music. A central aspect of her work is the musical "storytelling". Their music is supposed to tell stories and to kidnap the audience into imaginary worlds, thus offering them headscapes in the best possible sense.
