One of the earliest crossover Country/Pop stars, BOBBY HELMS was named 'Country Singer Of The Year' by Cashbox magazine in 1957, a year in which he released three million-selling 45s, 'Fraulein', 'My Special Angel' and 'Jingle Bell Rock', all of which topped the Country charts and crossed over to become major Pop hits.
Bizarrely, he was something of a controversial figure, largely condemned by the Country Music establishment who viewed him as little more than a Rock'n'Roller.
Nonetheless, he followed through with a further series of crossover Country-Pop successes like 'Just A Little Lonesome', 'Jacqueline', 'Borrowed Dreams', 'The Fool And The Angel', 'New River Train', 'No Other Baby' and 'Lonely River Rhine', over the next few years.
All are included on this compilation, which presents the Very Best of Bobby's recorded output between 1957-62.
