Lee and the Beautitones, is an international blues band based in Venice, Italy with Marco Bolognini on guitar and Massimo Prosdocimo on drums. Lee is renown for his distinctive natural blues voice as well as his bass playing. Originally from Vancouver, B.C., He is a graduate of the music program at Capilano University in North Vancouver.
While living in western Canada, Lee toured across the country with various bands. In 1990, he moved to Ontario and teamed up with Mike Burton to form the Hurtin' Blues Band. This collaboration produced two CD's: Piece of Cake, 200 and Mouse, 2003.
In 2013 Lee recorded Sit Down Blues as a solo project. In 2019 he released his fourth CD Venice at Night featuring two musicians from Vancouver : guitar wizard John Keiselhorst and life-long friend, drummer Randy Jakob. The CD was recorded at Cosmic Pig Studios in Surrey, B.C. It was produced by Lee and Rick Boulter. All of the original songs on the four CD's were co-written by Alana Pierini and Lee Holmes.
