Luiz Gonzaga Ayrão Kedi (Rio de Janeiro, January 19, 1942) is a Brazilian singer who had hits such as, among others, the songs "The Pre-moistened", "Open Door", "Our Song", "eagle head" and "The Lovers", the latter recorded in 1979 and sold nearly two million copies.
Singer, composer and writer, was born in the neighborhood of Lins de Vasconcelos, in Rio de Janeiro.1 Son of musician and composer Darcy Ayrão (1915-1955), grew up in a musical environment. At the home of an uncle, Joey de Azevedo, saxophonist, and John used to attend Pixinguinha of Bahia, who played compositions Ayrão conductor and teacher. At age 20, through his uncle composer, met several renowned artists, among them Ataulfo Alves, Humberto Teixeira, Osvaldo Santiago and Alcir Pires Red. Later, he graduated in law and worked for some years in the profession of Lawyer and Attorney BEG - State Bank of Guanabara.1
In 1963 he had his first recorded song, "Just for Love" performed by Roberto Carlos, who later also would record, in 1966, "Our Song", considered the first successful romantic singer. During this time, he composed several songs that were recorded by various artists Young Guarda.1
In 1968 participated in the festival "Brazil in Rio sings", the TV Excelsior, with the composition "Freedom! Freedom ...". In 1969, at the invitation of Rildo Time and Romeu Nunes, this song was released as a single by RCA Victor simple.
In 1973 recorded a single compact with the song "Open door" of his own composition in honor of Portela and was considered his first success as cantor.1 Due to the great success of the compact, the Odeon in 1974 released his first LP .
In 1975 he released the album Mission, with the emerging national successes "Split Ball" of his own, and yet "Saudade da República", Artúlio of Kings. By that time, he moved with his family to São Paulo and started singing in the Cathedral of Samba, one of the main homes of São Paulo night, sharing the stage with Pery Ribeiro and Leny Andrade.1
In 1976 he re-recorded "Our Song" in Luiz Ayrão LP, which also included his authorship, "count to Ten", "Reunion", "The Widow", "Bola pra Frente", "A Samba Deserves Respect", " The Wolf of Dawn. " This LP, also stood out "I want you back", staying for more than a year on the charts. [Citation needed]
In 1977 he recorded new LP, highlighting the cry "My dear friend Chico", which made a musical response to also cry "My dear friend," Francis Hime and Chico Buarque. A controversy involved the release of the album because of the track "Woman with Brazilian" samba with which he had arrived at the final choice at GRES Portela samba parade for the following year, with samba hailed as preferred by community at the school and much publicized on the radio, even this was sung by the crowd in the stands overcrowded at the time of the 1978 parade.
Also in 1978 he recorded the LP The People Sing, in which he played the author of "Dangerous Game", and "Love Divided" and "Guitar Tuned", both in partnership with Sidney da Conceição, besides the title track, also partnership both. Also included on the disk "My Angel" composition that his father had made in honor of his mother Sylvia.
In Friends LP, 1979, played one of his biggest hits, the composition "Saudade that He - The Pre-moistened" by Johnny Rocinha (one of his nicknames) and Augusto Elzo. In the band had a cameo coral Canarinhos of Petrópolis. Also notable was that drive the track "Samba School" of his own.
In São Paulo, as an entrepreneur, founded three venues: Canecão Anhembi, Sinha Liberdade1 Girl and Model, which is presented in several successful artists.
LP 1983 - Who has Hope has no horizon ... the music was recorded in Eagle head composed with Sidney's Conception in honor of his Portela samba school, which earned him much success.
In the year 1986 he recorded the Album: Roots of Samba, where toasted again Portela Samba School with samba "What there portela" of his own under the name of Poet Tiao, (another of his pseudonyms) and achieved success not only at the school but also in broadcasting.
In 1999 released another album with songs that were hits, as: A longing that was (The Pre-moistened), Saudades da republic, divided Portela,
Participated in many television programs in the country, having recorded thirty albums, and won many awards. Their music led him to do shows in Latin America, United States, Italy, France and Japan
