Liszt never transcribed his thirteen symphonic poems for solo piano - that task wasundertaken by his Czech student August Stradal (1860-1930).
Stradal's versions demand almost superhuman virtuosity, which the Finnish pianistRisto-Matti Marin supplies in spades.
