Monte Dunn was a noted folk and folk-rock session guitarist in the 1960s, playing on records by Ian & Sylvia, Fred Neil, David Blue, and Buffy Sainte-Marie. In the late 1960s he teamed up with singer Karen Cruz and the duo made a rare, self-titled folk-rockish album for the Cyclone label. It's a pleasant if ordinary record with some tinges of country music and fey baroque orchestration, with the pair's voices blending well in earthy and imaginative harmonies. ~ Richie Unterberger
